GED Beginners Course for 15 year olds

GED Beginners

We are delighted to offer a new GED beginners course for 15 year olds. This is a foundational course in Mathematics and English aimed at students who are still too young to write the GED® yet would like to start working towards that goal.
Created by the makers of our super-successful online GED Prep course, this study programme is intended for students who have not yet achieved a Year 10 level in these subjects.

It will ensure that students build a strong foundation and solidify their skills and understanding of required concepts, before they begin preparing to write the GED Tests, for which they must be age 17 or older.
Some of the subject-matter, towards the end of the course overlaps with the online GED Prep course and this will reinforce the concepts and boost the student’s self-confidence as they discover that they have mastered these skills.
The English language programme develops writing basics, but does not yet burden the student with formal essay-writing.

The cost of this course is NZD $300 per annum.

Most students take a year to work through the course, but this may vary depending on each student’s abilities, motivation and starting level of competence. The course is self-paced so they can work as quickly or as slowly as they need to complete each lesson.

A GED® Pathway to Future Success

The recommended course of action would be the following:

Age 15 or Year 10 (Grade 9) or lower – GED Beginners Course to build foundations

  • Enrol in the GED Beginners course for Maths and English.
  • Use other suitable courses for Science and Social Studies. We recommend the Apologia Science series by Dr Jay Wile and a literature based social studies programme that encourages reading.
  • At the same time, your student should pursue their own interests, volunteer, work part-time, start a business or other useful life experience that will build their skills and their CV!

Age 16 or Year 11 (Grade 10 level) – Prepare for the GED tests

Age 17 – Achieve your GED® secondary school equivalency credential and SAT

Age 17/18 – Start your career studies

  • Prepare for university admission or other further study or training. Besides degree courses at universities, there are also many polytechnics and private institutions that offer career training courses.
